Question:

How long has Lee & Grant Company been involved in Real Estate Appraisal Education? 

Answer:

Lee & Grant Company has been conducting real estate appraisal classes since 1991 and is presently approved in 33 states.

Question:

Where is your main headquarters?

Answer:

Our headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Question:

Are all the instructors appraisers?

Answer:

At present all instructors' are active appraisers.

Question:

May I apply to be an instructor even if I am not an active appraiser?

Answer:

Question:

How do I register for a pre-certification or continuing education class?

Answer:

You may register by e-mail - contactus@leeandgrant.com or by telephone

Question:

May I show up for a course without registering first and pay at door?

Answer:

Yes, however, in order to guarantee a place in class reservations should be made by e-mail or phone and a confirmation number will be assigned. Payment must be received 10 days prior to class or your reservation will be canceled. A late fee of $20 will apply after the 10 days providing space is available. 

Question:

Will I get a special rate if I stay at the hotel the course is given?

Answer:

Most hotels block a number of rooms and will hold till 20 days before date of course. Always identify yourself as a Lee & Grant student. If hotel desk clerk doesn't have information ask for the Sales and Catering department of the hotel.

Question:

I hold a license in Washington but I want to take a course in another state. Will the state of Washington accept my certificate?

Answer:

Yes. If you wish to be awarded certificate(s) in different states, please inform Lee & Grant at time of registration. 

Question:

I hold licenses in several states. May I get credit for all the states for the same course?

Answer:

Yes, however, you should always call the Real Estate Appraisal board in each state to be sure Lee & Grant is approved for that state. In order to receive certificate(s) a photo ID and license number is required.

Question:

Is there a cost for the additional certificates I receive in class?

Answer:

There is no additional cost for an original certificate. There is a fee for replacement certificates. The replacement form may be printed from Lee & Grant web-site.

Question:

When and what must I do to receive my certificate(s)? 

Answer:

All certificates are awarded upon completion of course or courses provided student is on time and attends 100% of class hours. No partial credit can be given for less than full attendance. Any time that a student has missed during a course may be made up by attending that corresponding portion of the course when it is offered again.

Question:

What courses require an examination?

Answer:

All pre-certification courses require an end-of-course exam. Continuing education courses except for USPAP(15 hours) do not require an examination.

Question:

What happens if I fail an examination and what must my score be to obtain a passing grade?

Answer:

You may take the exam again. A score of 75% is required. All exams are multiple choice.

Question:

I would like to repeat a course I have taken with Lee & Grant as a refresher. Is there a charge?

Answer:

There is no charge. You may take the whole or part of course if taken within a year from the original date of first course.

Question:

What is your refund policy?

Answer:

A full refund will be issued if notice of non-attendance is received at least 7 days prior to the first course or courses student has registered for. No refunds thereafter.

Question:

Will I need a calculator and if so what kind?

Answer:

Calculators are required for all courses except USPAP. Financial calculators are needed for all capitalization courses.

Question:

I have purchased Lee & Grants' video on the financial calculator. I have a question regarding some of the functions. Is there someone I can speak to?

Answer:

You may  call 1-800-272-8072. A qualified instructor will respond within 24 hours. The same applies to any questions you may have regarding materials covered in any of the courses you have attended. 

Question:

I have a disability or medical condition and may have certain needs during class. Can arrangements be made for me?

Answer:

Yes, when registering for course let us know of those needs and we will make all required arrangements.

Question:

May I use my cell-phone or tape recorder in class? 

Answer:

As a courtesy to other students and instructors, Lee & Grants' policy is to ask all students to adjust sound on cell-phones, beepers, other similar instruments so they do not sound in class. Please discuss with instructor any exceptions to this, such as a personal emergency. Tape recorders and other devices may not be used in the classroom without permission of Lee & Grant Company.

Question:

I have an appraisal report I need to finish and drop off when I leave class. May I do this during class hours?

Answer:

Reading of and/or working on non-course material in the classroom is not permitted.
